THE ART OF MAKING PAPER FLOWERS

Making paper flowers is one of the most fun and favorite crafts of children and adults alike and they are making a come back today just like they did many years ago. One of the best reasons is paper flowers are limited only by the amount of imagination and creativity you are willing to apply. In today's electronic age there seems to be very little opportunity to develop anyone's creative abilities. There are Some teachers of kindergarden and scout leaders that are using this craft as a means of letting the children express their own creativity. Even our teens could benefit from this skill for some of their school projects. Paper flower making was always one of my favorite crafts as a child and still is.

Paper flowers are inexpensive and offer an excellent arrangement of flowers for any occasion. They’re easy to make and are just as beautiful as the ones Mother Nature has created. Many of the most beautiful flowers in nature don’t have the most perfect petals or leaves, and paper flowers are no exception. If you look at real flowers they are not perfect, each one has it's own unique character, and that is why you don't have to be
an expert to make paper flowers. Paper flowers are a great substitute for expensive bouquets of flowers that can cost you a fortune, especially when you consider real flowers last only a week or two, and paper flowers will last for years and when you are finished with them they can be placed in the recycle bin to be used to make more paper, so they are eco friendly too.

If you are into handmade decorations, paper flowers are the way to go as there use is unlimited and confined only by the imagination. Some use them as wedding decorations, on homecoming floats, for high school proms, party decorations, decorations on gifts, or home decor decorations such as center pieces, drapery ties, and placed in bathrooms where you can add a little scent to the flowers to control odor as well as to beautify. These are but a few of the many ways paper flowers can be used.

You can make paper flowers with crepe paper or some people use tissue paper. They can be any color that you want them to be. You can scent them with different scents or embellish them with a little paint or markers. There are many types of flowers that can be made in all different sizes.

In Mexico they are used on special occasions such as quinceañera (coming out ceremony for 15-year-old girls), Cinco de Mayo (commemoration of there victory over the French), and especially Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The use of paper flowers are a recognized part of Mexican tradition. Most of these flowers are very bold and very beautiful and handcrafted by local talented artisans.

Whatever the reason that you may have for wanting to make paper flowers, they make beautiful arrangements for any type of decorating ideas. They are so real looking that people may stop to smell the roses. You could buy plastic, silk, or real flowers but paper flowers will be more popular. Now paper flowers will be blooming all over the place and any time of the year.
