How to Make Paper Flowers and Sell Them (part 2)

Main Content No Comments »

What started out as a way to make our booth look better and draw in more people turned out to be just what we needed to turn our business from bad to a profitable business.

We took some old mason jars wrapped colored paper around them put a bow on them and added some of our paper flowers to make a floral arrangement and placed several of these on the booth table. We made several other arrangements tied ribbons around them and placed them around our booth for decorations. When we opened up our booth people started looking at the flowers as usual but then got to asking us how much for this arrangement, you don’t have a price on it.

This is when it dawned on us that people were either lazy or didn’t know how to do flower arrangements. So from that point on we started doing floral arrangements.

We found that we could buy cheap vases add a ribbon and make a floral arangement and could charge a lot more money for these than just what we would get for the flowers by themselves.

So if you are going to sell your paper flower creations make them into arrangements for sale rather then trying to sell them individually. You will be able to charge more money and make greater profits by doing this.

We wish you the best of luck in your new business and if you don’t know how to do flower arrangements take a course in it, we did and it improved our sales. We learned a lot of little tricks along the way to help improve out sales and we will be sharing them from time to time so please stay tuned.

How to Make Paper Flowers and Sell Them (part 1)

Main Content No Comments »

If you are like us and love to make paper flowers somewhere along the line you are going to be asked, “how much would you charge me to make somepaper flowers for me”. This happened to use many years ago and got us started making and selling paper flowers at craft shows. At first we didn’t sell many flowers, we had a lot of lookers and a lot of great comments but not many sales. If we broke even after paying all of the shows fee’s and other expenses we considered ourselves lucky and would say the next time it will be better.

At this time we were only selling the flowers individually laid out on a table so the each flower could be picked up and looked at and judged on it’s own merits. Our next thought was we could sell more flowers if our booth looked better and had better eye appeal. This is when we learned how to sell more paper flowers and go home with money in our pocket.

In my next post I will tell you what we learned, so if you are thinking about selling and making paper flowers you will want to check out the next post.
