Are
there ways to make patterns for other type
flowers not in your book?
Yes, patterns can
be made by buying silk flowers at your craft
store and carefully taking them apart and
using them for your patterns. Once traced
on to paper they can be photo copied to the
size that you want.
Are
there ways to add highlight to the flowers
for a more natural look?
Yes, water colors
and artist’s pastels will add color
and wax or hair spray will add a glossy or
semi gloss finish to the flowers.
Are
there ways to enlarge or reduce the size of
the flower patterns in the book?
Yes,
you can use a copier and use a bigger number
to make them bigger and a smaller number to
make them smaller. If you have a computer
and scanner, you can scan them and use any
graphics program to change the size.
Can
I use artificial leaves instead of making
them?
Yes, but be sure
they are the right size for the flower you
are making. You can also use artificial stamens
instead of making them yourself.
Can I wax my flowers to make them look like
the ones in Victorian times?
Yes, but you want
to be very careful because you can burn yourself
with the hot wax . Always use a double boiler
for melting wax and if ever begins to smoke,
remove it from the stove right away, it about
to burst into flame. We try to keep the temperature
around 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
Can
I sell the flowers I make?
Yes, you can sell
the flowers you personally make, but the patterns
and instructions are protected by copyright
so you cannot sell the patterns or instructions.
Can I make
copies to use in teaching a group?
Yes, you may pick
one flower and copy those pages, if you tell
the class whereto buy the book. If you want to
teach several classes, please contact us. We
can give you a discount; you can sell the book
with the class at the full or discounted
price, as you choose. We retain all rights to
this copyrighted book.
